The Rev. Luke Lucas’ Men’s Study Group — Will resume on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. beginning 9/11/18. Join us in the Poynor room as we study "Against the Flow" by John Lennox

Men’s Bible Study — Wednesdays at 7 a.m. in the Poynor Room; meetings are ongoing

Adult Bible Study — Wednesdays at 11 a.m. in the Poynor Room following the 10:30 a.m. Holy Eucharist & Healing Service in the Chapel

** Roland Skinner's Sunday School Class — If you attended Roland Skinner’s Sunday School class, The History of Christianity: From the Disciples to the Dawn of the Reformation this past year and would like to view any sessions that you missed,
the DVD is available in the church office. This class will resume in the fall with the final 6 sessions.

Youth Scavenger Hunt - Bring a friend and meet at St. John's for a scavenger hunt around town with our First Pres. friends from 5-7:30PM. Bring $5 for dinner. Parents - pick up is at First Pres. at 7:30PM

Saturday, August 18th
Help 4 Kids Packing Day from 12:30-2pm. Join the Youth Group at Help 4 Kids to pack food bags for local school children. All youth grades 6th-12th are encouraged to be a part of this important service. Help 4 Kids is located at 2420 Hoffmeyer Road, Florence, SC

Sunday, August 19th
Blessing of the Backpacks - Join us at the 10AM service as we send our students off with a special blessing for the new school year. Don't forget to bring your backpack!

September 9th - Rally Sunday
September 16th - Sunday School Begins
November 4th - Bishop's Visitation & Confirmation
St. John’s has completed another busy week delivering Meals On Wheels! Thank you to ALL of the volunteers: Jerry Nelson, Laura Lindner, Harry Cantey, Carol Sanderson, Craig and Andrea McKenzie, Cara and Larry Murphy, Kay Floyd, Sissy Floyd, and Bubby Floyd. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Our next week to deliver Meals On Wheels is October 8-12, 2018. ‘Hope to see MANY volunteers that week!
Care Closet Items Needed
St. John’s Church is collecting items for Briggs Elementary’s Care closet. The Care Closet houses items that low income students need. We will be collecting the following items. Personal hygiene items are of greatest need. Items can be dropped off in the box labeled “School Supplies” in the church hallway. We will pray for the students receiving these items as well as area students, teachers and schools at the Blessing of the Backpacks on Sunday, August 19th

Items Needed:
baby wipes
Unscented Bar Soap
Hand Sanitizer (pump bottle)
Box of Tissues
Lysol Wipes
Composition Notebooks (no spiral)
Erasers (pencil top or pink)
#2 pencils
